Being just a 20-minute walk from the White House, it’s only right for the only NBA team in the nation’s capital to honor our country like this. The “Stars & Stripes” uniform will see its first action on Friday, November 11-Veterans Day-against the Cavaliers and will also be donned by the team for five subsequent games against Charlotte (twice), Memphis, Indiana, and Dallas.
The purpose of the six games is to honor each branch of the armed forces when it’s worn: Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Navy, and the National Guard.
Some teams have had their fair share of ugly jerseys, but the simple design on these is hard to hate-plus, it’s paying homage to the nation’s flag.
