Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry had a fake fight the other night, but Robin Lopez and Serge Ibaka more than made up for it.
If Paul Zipser dunked on me, I’d probably get mad too. And that’s precisely why Ibaka and Lopez got tangled up. Not too long after the Zipper rattled the rim, Lopez and Ibaka were battling for position on the block before a shot went up. After the bucket had been made, the newest Raptor gave a little love-tap to his opposing center.

Lopez took exception and swatted the ball out of Ibaka’s hands, and the official just barely separated them before a nine-round slugfest ensued. Believe it or not, the two actually threw punches in the middle of the mob! Lopez swung first, and Ibaka countered immediately after, but neither made contact.
Double technicals were assessed, and both got ejected.
To make matters worse, the Raptors got manhandled in the third quarter by a team that they’re much better than. Unfortunately, Ibaka had 16 points and six rebounds and was the only guy not named DeMar DeRozan who was playing well for Toronto. Chicago, on the other hand, had multiple guys working well and Lopez was one of them. Brook’s brother had 12 points and three blocks in 25 minutes of action.
With a win tonight and a Pistons loss, the Bulls would be even closer to returning to playoff form as they would improve to 34-37.
